2.2.1 Adding a book to the bookshelf

To add a new book to the list of DAISY titles on your bookshelf, go to the
Bookshelf view, for instance by pressing [Key2] (Back), until you reach
the desired location. When on the Bookshelf view, follow these steps:

4. Press [Key1] (Options).

5. Navigate to New book, and press [Select].

6. The Select memory dialogue appears; choose from the available locations
( Phone memory, Mass memory), and press [Select].

7. The Select folder dialogue appears, and you can choose one of the
folders located on the chosen memory location. Select Root folder to find
all DAISY titles at that location, or navigate to a specific folder, and
press [Select].

8. If you have selected a folder that is different from the Root folder,
you will now get a list of sub-folders. The first entry allows selecting
the current folder; the other entries are the sub-folders inside the
currently selected folder. After navigating to the folder of your choice,
press [Select].

Note that [Key1] alternates between Search and Open.

9. When you have chosen another sub-folder, you have to repeat step5,
until you have reached the desired location. At this point, press [Key1]
(Search) to retrieve the list of DAISY titles located in the selected
folder.

Note: When you press [Select] twice in step3 above, you get a complete
list of all DAISY titles found at the selected memory location, and you do
not need to know where they are located.

10. The list of DAISY books in the selected location appears. To
mark/unmark a title from the list, you can press [Key1] (Options), then

11. Repeat step7 to mark as many books from that list as you like.

12. Press [Key1] (Options), then select Add to add these books to the
bookshelf. If no titles have been marked, the currently selected title will
be added to the bookshelf. [Key2] (Cancel) aborts the operation, and no
books will be added.

2.2.2 DAISY-fy

If you have a bunch of MP3 files in a folder, such as an MP3 audio book,
you can use this feature to access that content using Daisy2go. This
creates an entry in the book list, but does not really create a DAISY
title. However, you can play these files, use cueing, speed adjustment,
bookmarks, etc.

To DAISY-fy a folder with MP3 files:

13. Go to the Bookshelf view, for instance by pressing [Key2] (Back),
until you get there.

14. Press [Key1] (Options), then select DAISY-fy.

15. Now, select the folder containing the MP3 files; this works like
described in section .

16. After the respective MP3 files have been identified, you are prompted
for their sort order. Select one of the available choices:

a. Author, album, track

b. Author, track

c. Folder, file name

17. Press [Key1] (OK) to continue, or [Key2] (Cancel) to abort the
operation.

18. Now you will be prompted for a book name. After entering a name, press
[Key1] (OK) to add the new title to the bookshelf, or [Key2] (Cancel) to
abort the operation.

2.3 The Content view

When a DAISY title is opened from the bookshelf, its table of content is
displayed by default. The following choices are available when pressing
[Key1] (Options):

Open bookshelf: This returns to the Bookshelf view. Note that you can
cycle through all views by pressing [#].

Open/Close: When the table of content is displayed in tree view, Open
displays branches containing sub-chapters of the currently selected
chapter. Close returns to the previous level in this hierarchy.
Alternatively, you can also use the [Right] and [Left] keys to open and
close branches of the content tree. Chapters that contain sub-chapters are
preceeded by an icon displaying a plus sign.

View: The table of contents can be displayed in two views:

Tree view: This displays the table of content as a tree of chapters,
sub-chapters, etc. It represents the logical structure of a DAISY title.

List view: This shows the table of content as a list, without any
indication of its structure.

  Resume playback

  Book info

Find text: Opens a dialog that lets you search for a word or a phrase in
the table of contents. You can then use the [#] key to jump to the next
occurrence. On phones with a touch screen, a toolbar is displayed that lets
you jump between the different occurrences.

content, and display the corresponding text, whatever is available, press
the [Select] key.

You can use [0] to quickly move to the top or bottom of the content list
or tree branch.

2.4 The Text view

When the audio content of a DAISY book is played, the Text view shows the
corresponding text, and the current audio position is highlighted. If no
text is available, this will display the heading text. If no audio content
is available, or when playback is paused, you can use this screen to read
the text of the DAISY title.

You can move around the text using the navigation keys. If audio is
available, you can simply press the [Select] key at any time to continue
audio playback at the current location in the text. The closest position in
the audio content will be identified using the synchronization information
stored for the actual DAISY title.
