Cubilete Game Rules
Cubilete is a very popular and traditional Cuban game that is played with a set of five Poker dice. When played as a drinking game the losers buy the winners drinks. The strategy is to know what to throw or roll for by judging what previous players have rolled.
Each player takes its turn to, and they will have up to 3 throws or rolls, setting aside any dice they want for their final hand. Throwing the Cubilete is easy; you can use the buttons on the screen or simply SHAKE your device, once the shaking movement stops the dices will roll. The objective is to roll a hand of 5 of a kind. All other hands are meaningless. Aces are wild and can be matched to any other value. A number of rounds are played and the winner of a game is the first to score the defined total points (or total patas).
Only the winner of a round scores points and must have 5 of a kind. If no player has score with 5 of a kind, then the last player to throw the dice rolls first in the next round. A player who throws 5 Kings or Aces wins the round outright and rolls first in the next round.
The scores are as follows (High to Low):
- 5 Aces (Carabina de Aces) scores 10 points
- 5 Kings with no wild aces (Carabina de Kings Naturales) scores 5 points
- 5 Kings with wild Aces (Carabina de Kings) scores 2 points
- 5 Queens (or Cabangas) including aces scores 1 point
- 5 Jacks (or Javas) including aces scores 1 point
